Victoria and Jason’s wedding was a lovely day well spent in Hamilton and Ancaster. Getting ready photos kicked it all off. These end up usually being some of my favourite candids because everyone is straight-up GIDDY and PUMPED and it always comes through so well in the images. There are also these quiet, peaceful moments thrown in that usually happens when the bride is by herself for 5 minutes, putting on her earrings, peering at her reflection and taking a deep breath while everyone else is cheers-ing on mimosas in the other room. This happened with Victoria and it was amazing to be there to witness + document.

Once everyone was ready, the guys and gals met up at Canterbury Hills for the first look/reveal/whatever the kids call it these days + some portraits with the entire wedding party. This place is such a hidden gem! Takes your right outta the GTA with waterfalls and moss and cliffs and bridges.

Ceremony time at Ancaster Mill in The Miller’s Chapel which I think is my favourite. The ceilings are beautiful and the light that place lets in is a thing of beauty. Crisp, light-filled ceremony images are THE BEST. It was lovely – short and sweet style – with tears and laughter and everything you’d dream of in a ceremony.

We had an Ancaster Mill coordinator with us during the portrait session which was so so helpful/amazing because there were a few other weddings going on at the time, which meant running into each other and other bridal parties over your shoulder wanting to steal your photo spot would have been not ideal. We always shoot the entire bridal party first, then the girls + guys separately, then kick everyone out so they can enjoy dranks and so the bride + groom portraits are more intimate. Since we were with a small group at that point, the coordinator took us to a secret lil spot she said she rarely takes clients to because they’re always huge groups. We walked through a few bushes and walked straight into our own little paradise with NO ONE around and it was perfect. Victoria and Jason were able to breathe, take a second to really let it sink in that they’re married (yes!) and just cozy up on each other for a hot second.

We made our way to the reception where Victoria and Jason debuted their first dance which they prepared for months in advance with dance classes. It was perfect and the cutest. You could just see how proud Jason was to have Victoria on his arm.

Then, donuts instead of cake, some photo booth action, dancing, speeches, and bouquet toss to end the night 🙂
