Our Story
Welcome!
We are so glad that you’ve stumbled across our work, and we really hope that you enjoy it. We’re Michelle and Jaclyn - two dedicated sisters who both really love photography, creating, and being unique.
People ask us why “3” Photography, since the business is headlined by two, not three people. The number “3” signifies the powerful relationship that we had with our mother, who’s passed away. Part of our business is dedicated to her, to show her and ourselves how far we’ve come together.
Some words from Jaclyn:
Hi! I’m Jaclyn.
My life typically consists of photography, blog reading and writing, dreaming, films, and the love of my life, my little kitty Toots.
I have a degree in Communication, Media, and Film, and for as long as a can remember I’ve had a strong interest in photography. One day, over a plate of spaghetti at a local restaurant, my sister and I decided that we should join forces and create a business together. We’ve always been close, but as you can imagine, we’re sisters and we do disagree on certain things. What makes us work, though, is that while we’re different in some ways, and bring different things to the table, we’re both working towards the same thing and we both have the same goals.
This career is fantastic and I feel so lucky to do this everyday. I have the privilege to create very special images for people, and each time I try to hard to make them timeless, unique, and beautiful.
Some words from Michelle:
Hi there! I'm Michelle.
I have an unhealthy obsession with chai lattes, love reading, bike riding, & exploring Toronto.
Looking at a photo of our parents with us as wee ones or getting our hands on photos of our grandparents or great grandparents is so important to my sister and me now. Those photos are able to tell us things about our lives that we can't hear from our parents anymore. They provide us with narratives about ourselves, our childhood, and our history, which is so precious to us. What I used to love about photography was that you could literally own a moment and go back to it just whenever you felt like it. What I love about photography now is so much more than that; I've always been the arts & crafts one of the family but I really got into it when I started taking courses in University and started understanding how complex it was.
I feel so privileged to be able to run a business being creative, and meeting the nicest couples who end up feeling a bit like friends and less like clients.
