Oh, Katie and Evan. I THINK I can be so bold as to say they were one of our dreamiest couples this year. Gorgeous, in love, kind, considerate, the list truly goes on. They were completely trusting of us and the entire wedding photography process, and it really shines through in these shots with natural, relaxed vibes.
Everything took place in Hamilton, Ontario where Katie and Evan spend a lot of time. (Irrelevant sidenote: we shot in Hamilton the next day too, and both times we stopped off at the same McDonald’s before shooting for like 20 nuggets, oops.) For getting ready shots, both Katie and Evan dolled themselves up in the same hotel which made things super easy for everyone. Katie’s sister collected handwritten cards from family and friends prior to the wedding, put them inside a pretty box, and gifted it to Katie. There were tears and it was sweet. I was OBSESSED with Katie’s dress when I saw it hanging, but when she put it on… dead. So good. It was such a perfect match for her and it was so fun to document.
The ceremony was Jewish, which are always lovely. I find that Jewish ceremonies are quite focused on the friends/family/community of the couple which I think makes a ton of sense and always feels uper genuine. It was outside (my kinda ceremony) and short n’ sweet. Dundurn Castle provided for suuuuuuch a romantic, quiet backdrop for these guys.
Bride and groom portraits at Dundurn was a complete dream. We were essentially the only ones on the grounds, the light was perfect, the couple was chill AF. 10/10!!
We headed to Radius in Hamilton for the reception, and even though we were running a bit late (portaits were too good) the guests were able to hang out and have cocktails. Speeches were outside, which was so so good (hello gorgeous light). And the Hora… the Hora! The Hora is one amazing thing, but the Hora outside is on another level. Always the MOST fun to shoot.
After dinner inside, a first dance, cake cutting and some partying, Katie and Evan’s wedding day came to an end. It was an absolute pleasure to shoot xo
