Lavender Field Engagement Photos Ontario
Below are some answers to engagement shoot questions clients usually ask us. If you have a question that you can’t find here, shoot us an e-mail and we’ll get back to you!

Why is an engagement shoot important?
Having a big camera in your face is a little intimidating at first, so an engagement shoot is a great way to get used to it before the big day! It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know and get comfortable with your photographer. E-shoots are relaxed, easy-going, fun, and the photos you’ll get will really reflect that. We can’t recommend them enough!

Will you pose us?
Yes! That’s our job. Once we pose you, we usually get our best shots as the two of you interact with each other.

How long does a shoot last?
Engagement shoots run from an hour to an hour and a half, depending on location and outfit changes.

Do we pick the location or do you?
If there’s a special place (a park, a school campus, etc) that is special to you as a couple, let us know! You’ll love the photos even more if you have a connection to the location. If you’re stuck, that’s okay – we can work together and help you find awesome locations.

Do we bring anything?
Sure! There are a few routes to go with this: if, as a couple, you’re both really into something like… building Lego, bring some Lego and we’ll have fun with it! The alternative to props is if you want to create a unique scene, like a picnic. In that case, we would be able to work together to think of fun props to bring along.

How should we dress?
What you wear is important, because it’s important to feel like yourself. Aside from wearing clothes you’re comfortable in, stay away from huge, trendy logos or words – they’re distracting and it takes the focus away from you. Have complementary outfits, but careful not to be too matchy-matchy. The night before the shoot, lay your outfits out to make sure they look nice next to each other.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have fun with your outfits – please do! We want your photos to best reflect you and your relationship. Layers, bold colours, pretty patterns. Do it.

Most importantly – wear something you feel amazing in! Try everything on before you come to the shoot. Do you feel good? Sexy? Confident? If not, try another outfit. If you feel awesome in what you’re wearing, odds are you’ll be able to rock the camera a little better. One outfit change usually works best: one casual look, and one dressier look.
