On a beautiful early summer day, I had the honour of capturing Jacqueline and Jon’s wedding at Hotel X in Toronto, Ontario. Their wedding was a blend of classic and modern elements. And bonus, they’re totally in love and completely best friends. Laughing at one another’s silly jokes and just so pleased to be in the moment together. Jackie is a planner!! She made sure every detail and schedule was absolutely perfect but when things went off course she was able to stay totally in the moment and pivot. So when one area of the venue was taken by another party, we were able to pick another equally amazing location (there are so many, which helped!) and still have such a great time.
The ceremony took place in New Fort Hall, where the venue’s natural light created a picturesque backdrop for bridal party portraits. Hotel X’s views were a stunning setting for portraits of the bride and groom during sunset against the Toronto skyline.
The decor featured textural white florals with hints of black and purple, adding depth to the overall design. Jackie wore a strapless gown, while Jon was decked out in sleek black-tie attire, perfectly embodying the wedding’s elegant style.
One of the standout moments was Jon’s emotional reaction when he saw Jacqueline walk down the aisle, despite having a first look earlier in the day. This genuine display of love and joy was a highlight of the ceremony.
During sunset, we ran around the hotel with Jackie and Jon playing and taking creative photos, using direct flash for retro party photos and used a slow shutter speed for dreamy portraits of these two.
